Drumline Classes at Denver Percussion
Prepare for marching season with our 4-day Summer Drumline Marching Classes at Denver Percussion. Designed for middle and high school percussionists, these intensives focus on drumline fundamentals, reading, marching technique, ensemble skills, and composing an original cadence—ending each week with a performance block.
Programs are available for Middle School, High School, and a combined Middle/High School ensemble, with sessions running throughout June and July.

Meet Your Instructors

Dr. McKenna Blenk
Dr. McKenna Blenk is an active percussion educator and performer based in Denver, Colorado. She holds a DMA in Percussion Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Iowa, along with advanced degrees from Truman State University and Appalachian State University.
McKenna has taught at the collegiate level and worked extensively with marching percussion, percussion ensembles, and steel pan groups across the U.S. She has performed nationally and internationally and is an advocate for new music, diversity, and inclusion.
She is a Vic Firth and Zildjian Educational Artist, a member of the Network for Diversity in Concert Percussion, and serves on the PAS Diversity Alliance Committee.

Rowan Woodbury
Rowan Woodbury is a Denver-based educator and drummer with a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Colorado Boulder. He studied classical percussion and jazz drum set and has worked with The Battalion Drum & Bugle Corps and the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble.
An active performer across the Front Range, Rowan collaborates with a wide range of artists and bands spanning funk, jazz, punk, and beyond.
As an educator, he has served as percussion director for Chatfield-area schools and continues to consult with Chatfield High School and Deer Creek Middle School. His teaching emphasizes technique, rhythm literacy, adaptability, and play.
