The Sidereal Moon Planet Gong from Paiste is a unique instrument tuned to the celestial frequencies of our solar system. Based on the pioneering work of Hans Cousto, author of The Cosmic Octave, Planet Gongs are crafted to make the orbits of celestial bodies audible through their dominant fundamental tones and prominent harmonic overtones in the 4th octave.

Similar to Paiste’s Symphonic Gong series, the Planet Gongs allow listeners to experience the energy of celestial bodies through vibration and sound. When played with intention, these gongs open possibilities for spiritual and emotional healing, meditation, and immersive sound therapy.

The Sidereal Moon Gong reflects the Moon’s orbit relative to the background stars, completing one full revolution in 27.322 days. This is different from the synodic (lunar) month, which spans 29.531 days. Note that Paiste does not label this gong as a “New Moon” or “Full Moon” Gong, though you may hear these terms in some circles.
