The MEINL Sonic Energy 16" Octave Steel Tongue Drum is a premium instrument made from high-quality coated stainless steel, designed to create a rich, meditative sound similar to a handpan. Featuring a central bass note surrounded by eight additional notes—each with two reeds spanning two octaves—this drum offers a complex, resonant soundscape that is ideal for meditation, sound therapy, or creative music-making.

The Octave Steel Tongue Drum can be played with your fingers or with the included wooden mallets featuring rubber heads. Its bottom-mounted sound hole can be closed with a silicone plug to produce a more focused tone. Three silicone feet keep the drum stable during play, whether placed on a flat surface or your lap.

Finished in dark green with a beautifully engraved floral design, this drum combines visual elegance with excellent performance. Slight discoloration from laser engraving may occur due to the material, but it does not affect the drum’s sound, function, or quality.
