Robert Anderson
Robert graduated from The University of North Texas with a degree in Music Education. His rich musical journey includes playing snare drum for the Sky Ryders (Hutchinson, KS) and The Velvet Knights (Anaheim, CA). At UNT, he was part of "The World's Most Dangerous Drumline," where he was under the tutelage of esteemed instructors such as Dr. Robert Schietroma, Paul Rennick, and Tom Float.
His involvement didn't stop there; Robert was also an active member of several percussion ensembles, the steel band, African Ensemble, and Concert Band. Post-graduation, he juggled performing with various bands across Dallas/Ft Worth and serving as the percussion coordinator for Desoto ISD. His dedication led the Eagle band to qualify for the Texas UIL State Marching Contest twice, in addition to having one of the middle school groups perform at both TMEA and The Midwest Clinic.
After concluding his role in DeSoto, Robert continued to impact the percussion world through private lessons and consulting for numerous North Texas drumlines. As a performer, he's graced stages across the United States and was a cast member of Blast!, with over 250 performances at Epcot Center in Orlando, FL. His television appearances include the Kennedy Center Honors with Blast! and the 2015 CMAs alongside Rascal Flatts and Christina Aguilera.
Currently rocking with The 40 Acre Mule, Robert is as active as ever in the music scene, both locally in the D/FW area and touring nationwide. With 16 years of experience in percussion retail as a buyer, school bid manager, and sales manager, he's not only versed in the rhythm of music but also in the pulse of the percussion community, which he's excited to keep fostering in Texas.
