Summer Drumline Marching Class – 4-Day Intensive

Get a serious jump on marching season with our Summer Drumline Marching Class, a high-energy 4-day intensive designed specifically for high school drumline percussionists who want to sharpen their skills, lock in fundamentals, and perform with confidence.

Hosted at Denver Percussion, this class combines rock-solid technique, ensemble playing, creativity, and performance experience—all in a fun, motivating environment.

• Dates: Monday–Thursday, June 8–11

• Time: 9:00am – 1:00pm

• Level: High School Drumline Students
  (8th graders entering freshman year through seniors)

What You’ll Learn

Drumline Fundamentals

• Proper hand position & grip

• Technique development

• Essential rudiments for marching percussion

Reading & Improvisation

• Strengthen rhythmic reading skills

• Apply concepts musically within a drumline setting

Marching Techniques

• Visual fundamentals and ensemble awareness

• How to play clean and consistent while moving

Composition

• Learn how drumline cadences are constructed

• Collaborate to compose an original cadence

Performance Experience

Each day concludes with a performance block from 12:00–1:00pm, allowing students to put everything together in a full drumline ensemble.
