Congratulations on choosing to be part of the Denver Christian 7th Grade Band! I am so excited to have you as part of the band and am looking forward to all the fun we're going to have while making music! Here are some percussion items that you need to have and some that are optional. The required items are indicated below. If you don't have a percussion kit at home to practice on, you can rent one below. You will not need to bring it to school -- it will be for home practice only. If you already own some of the listed items (or ones that are very similar), then buy only what you don't already have. Your child can have 2 sets of sticks & mallets and not have to carry them back and forth to school, or you can buy 1 set, and he/she will need to take them home for practice. However, don't buy 2 sets of timpani mallets -- students only practice those at school! The stick bag is required to keep the sticks and mallets in -- it protects them and keeps them from getting broken and/or lost.
